ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY
Park Slope Christian Help will hold its Annual Christmas Party on Friday, December 23rd beginning at 11:15 am. Our guests will enjoy Christmas Mass, a holiday meal, music and gifts. As always, we need the help of the Brooklyn

GIFTS: We need NEW gifts to hand out at the party. About 90% of our guests are men so we need NEW WINTER HATS, GLOVES, SOCKS AND SCARVES to wrap and distribute at the party. We can also use sweat shirts, sweat pants and thermal underwear (especially large sizes).
WRAPPING PAPER: We also need Christmas wrapping paper and scotch tape BUT ONLY if delivered before December 15th.
VOLUNTEERS: We need volunteers to wrap gifts in the weeks before the party. We also need volunteers on December 23rd
to assist at the party. If you wish to volunteer, please call (718) 237-2962 between 8 am and 2 pm. Please know that we appreciate all volunteers but we only have space for a certain number of people on the day of the party.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.

CHIPS MEANS CLOTHES FOR THOSE IN NEED
FIRE!!! (Continued from above...)When the fire broke out, mothers and their babies were upstairs at the Francis Residence in their apartments. Luckily, everyone was quickly evacuated and there were no major injuries. A five-alarm fire had broken out at the auto supply store next door. Firefighters dragged hoses through the soup kitchen in order to gain access to the burning building. Thousands of gallons of water were poured on the blaze that raged on for hours. The facility received considerable water and smoke damage. The soup kitchen is no longer serving hot meals and the mothers and babies are in temporary shelter until the residency is reopened. CHIPS continues to feed the hungry by handing out bag lunches every day. It is unknown when the soup kitchen will be serving hot meals, or when mothers and babies will be able to return to their apartments. Please visit us again at www.chipsonine.org for updates.
