Our Committees

  • Continuously reviews and updates board roles, responsibilities, and policies to ensure alignment with our mission and vision. It assesses board composition, fosters diversity and development through recruitment, orientation, and ongoing training, while managing conflicts of interest and evaluating overall effectiveness. Additionally, the committee leads succession planning and provides counsel to board leaders to prepare for future leadership and maintain a high-performing board.

  • Collaborates with staff and a strategic planning consultant to develop and periodically update CHiPS’ three-year plan, ensuring our mission, vision, and strategic goals remain aligned. The committee is responsible for selecting a consultant, identifying critical strategic issues, and designing a process that incorporates market, community, and technology trends to enhance our services. Additionally, it reviews new programs, monitors key performance indicators, and recommends updates to maintain our organization’s effectiveness and long-term growth.

  • Advises the Board and staff on all matters related to managing our current real estate assets and exploring potential leases or acquisitions as part of strategic planning. It conducts analyses to determine space needs for program expansion, develops financial projections for ancillary spaces, manages sublet agreements, and collaborates with relevant departments and external consultants to safeguard financial stability while promoting controlled growth. Additionally, the committee supports Capital Campaigns, sets quarterly and annual goals, and regularly reports progress, setbacks, and needs to the Board and staff.

  • Advises the Board and staff on housing access issues affecting Frances Residence residents. It collaborates with leadership to build a support ecosystem by assisting with housing applications, offering financial guidance, connecting residents with real estate professionals, and advocating for community resources. The committee also works with the Development Department on program budgets, sets quarterly and annual goals, and monitors progress to report on achievements, setbacks, and needs.

  • Drives our mission by organizing targeted campaigns, special events, and community outreach initiatives. Their efforts generate essential financial support while also increasing increasing visibility and awareness of CHiPS in the community. Through creative engagement and strategic planning, the committee ensures we can continue providing vital services to those in need.

  • Also known as theBudget and Finance Committee, governs the organization's finances by reviewing staff-prepared budgets, developing robust procedures with program directors, and ensuring alignment between the budget and organizational plans. It reports financial irregularities, concerns, and opportunities to the board while recommending guidelines such as reserve funds or lines of credit and guiding auditor selection and reporting practices. Additionally, the committee advises the executive director and staff on financial priorities and information systems to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

  • Is a specialized subset of our Finance Committee, dedicated to guiding our investment strategies and best practices. It leverages financial expertise to ensure our investments align with our mission and contribute to long-term sustainability.
