Our Pantry

We offer take-home grocery items for people with and without kitchens, along with a client's choice of various fruits and vegetables.

Our on-site pantry has been in operation since 2008. In the fall of 2023, we rolled out the Mobile Pantry program, which now regularly operates in a number of locations throughout Brooklyn.

Client Choice

CHiPS has been working to incorporate increased client choice into our pantry program.

In September 2024, we moved the PS 124 pantry stop to a full client choice model. Guests can choose which shelf-stable goods they’d like in their pantry bag instead of receiving a pre-packaged bag.

We have introduced client choice into all of our pantry van stops and have offered the service on-site on a rolling basis, with the goal of org-wide pantry client choice by the end of 2025.

We’re moving to full client choice in order to allow our guests the dignity of choice, reduce food waste, and ensure that we’re providing grocery items that are actually appreciated and used.
