Youth Volunteering
Family-friendly volunteer opportunities at CHiPS
Under 16 Volunteering
While individuals must be 16 or older to volunteer in our kitchen or pantry, younger volunteers can still support our work in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.
Ways for Youth to Get Involved:
Organized On-Site Volunteering (Through our Partner Organization)
Looking for on-site opportunities for younger volunteers? Visit The Service Collective (TSC)—our exclusive partner for youth volunteer programming.
TSC is a local youth volunteer organization that offers structured, family-friendly volunteer events at CHiPS that directly support our programs, such as:
Treat Stand (Saturdays) – offering snacks and treats to guests during lunch service
Kitchen Kids (Sundays) – hands-on kitchen projects that support our meal program
Community Club (Thursdays) — hands-on kitchen projects that support our meal program
Note: TSC is currently on summer hiatus. Please check their website for upcoming opportunities at CHiPS.
Off-Site Service Projects (Drop-Off Only)
These independent, donation-based projects are completed off-site and dropped off at CHiPS. They’re great for individuals, families, classrooms, and youth groups looking to make an impact from home or school.
Use our Donation Drop-Off Calendar to schedule your drop-off time.
Project Options:
Off-Site Projects with Optional On-Site Distribution
These projects are also completed off-site, but include the option to come on-site and distribute your donation during lunch service. We’ll provide a table for your setup and the chance to engage directly with our community.
Use our Outdoor Distribution Service Project Scheduling Page to reserve your date.
